Our Berry orchard

We had planted just under an acre of various  varieties of blueberries four years ago, but due to a serious leg injury and surgery that year and deer fence breakage, drought, etc, we lost most of the bushes. We plan to replant and introduce other soft fruit crops

as time and money will allow.

In this orchard is a poultry manure composting station, protected from rainfall and leeching from spring runoff.

The Haskap Berries are here! We have potted them up for watering purposes and will plant them out after we build our rain harvesting system this summer in time for the fall/winter rains. As we are in stage three water management so early in the season, we have severely curtailed vegetable cultivation for this growing season. People need St Mary's Watershed water to drink!
